Cross Country Update

The 2020 Cross Country season has commenced and it has been fantastic to see such high attendance at training.

Students from all Year levels have been enjoying morning training sessions and training extremely hard. QGSSSA Cross Country will be held on Saturday 23 May and training and race preparation at the lead-up meets is vital in preparing our team.

Head Coach, Mr Tim Franklin, has a philosophy of making running an enjoyable lifelong activity by developing girls physically and mentally. Mr Franklin is assisted by coaches Mrs Sally Callie, Mrs Nadine Cameron, Ms Stephanie Johnson and Mr Elliot McGarry. Grammar Women, Miss Erica Schmelzer (2016), Miss Eugenie MacMillan (2017), Miss Meg Henderson (2017) and Miss Phillipa Taylor (2017) have also joined the coaching team.

Congratulations to Matisse Black (12H) and Lucinda Sherman (12M) who have been selected as this year’s Cross Country Captains. Matisse and Lucinda have been heavily involved in Cross Country since Year 7 and I have no doubt they will lead our team to another successful season.
