This year, BGGS produced one of its largest Volleyball squads with the introduction of a 10B social team. Congratulations to the 7A and 7B teams for finishing their first BGGS volleyball season, both placing second in their division.
All teams had a challenging final two rounds against Somerville House and Brisbane State High School (BSHS). Our away round at Somerville House was a heated one with the Senior A team defeating Somerville House in a close 2:1 sets, totalling six wins for the round.
The final at-home round was full of Girls Grammar spirit with spectators cheering on our teams. This support helped us secure four convincing wins against BSHS. Special mention to the Open team for their intense and exciting two-hour, five-set match against the undefeated BSHS Open team.
The dedication and diligence displayed by all girls throughout the season truly paid off, with eight of our teams placing in the top two of their division. Congratulations to all on a successful 2020 Volleyball season.
