Hockey Update

With an enthusiastic squad of over 70 girls now making it to their final trainings before games start, it is safe to say that the 2021 Hockey season is well underway. This term, it has been fantastic to see so many returning and new players come out to Rangakarra Recreational and Environmental Education Centre every Wednesday afternoon to work hard on developing their skills and, perhaps most importantly, to have fun.

This year, our goal is to build a strong sense of community and support within the Hockey squad. We aim to do this through team bonding activities and games that will take place at regular intervals throughout the season. Additionally, we perform a weekly squad warm-up, where girls will have the chance to bond with their teammates and other players. On that note, we would like to congratulate the following girls for their outstanding achievements in being selected in the following teams:

  • Ellie Kendall—Under 15 Queensland Maroon team and Under 19 Metropolitan North
  • Freya Horton—Under 18 Northern Territory
  • Ashley Foster-McGinn—Under 19 Metropolitan North

We wish all teams the best of luck for the first round of games in Week 1 next term against Brisbane State High School.
