The Interhouse Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday 13 August, at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC). It is compulsory for all students to travel to and from QSAC in the School bus, unless a letter from a parent was given to House Group Teachers by Friday 9 August.
If permission was requested to collect your daughter from the venue at the conclusion of the carnival, parents are asked to collect their daughters by the scheduled departure time of 2.15 pm.
Departure times
All buses will depart from the front of the School. Students will be required to board the bus allocated to their relevant House (e.g. Beanland girls must travel on the bus for Beanland House).
7 am departure:
- 12-Years to 17-Years 1500m competitors
- 12-Years, 13-Years and 14-Years 100m competitors (all divisions)
- 12-Years and 13-Years High Jump competitors
- 14-Years Shot Put, 17-Years Javelin, 15-Years Discus competitors
- Two seniors from each House (Managers)
- House Sports Captains
- All Student Helpers
- All Year 9 and Year 11 students
8.30 am departure:
- All remaining students
Buses will return to Girls Grammar at the completion of the carnival at 2.15 pm and arrive at the School from 3 pm onwards. There will be no House allocation for return buses.
Students must wear their correct sports uniform, School hat and black shoes to and from the Main Campus and change into House colours at school.
Girls should bring sun protection (hat, sports cap or visor, and sunscreen) and a water bottle. Students should bring their own morning tea and lunch—limited canteen facilities are available. Family and friends are most welcome to attend.
