Interhouse Swimming Carnival Results

Once again, spirits were high at the Interhouse Swimming Carnival, held on Friday 28 February at Brisbane Aquatic Centre.

Congratulations to Mackay House on securing a strong win ahead of Gibson and Lilley House in the competition for the Lilley Interhouse Swimming Cup for aggregate House points.

Congratulations to all girls who swam—participation is an important part of your commitment to your House—and well done to those who swam personal bests.

Congratulations to age champions: Willow Thomas (7W), 12 Years; Astrid Thomas (8H) and Ava Tran (7G), 13 Years, Charlotte Kennedy (8B), 14 Years; Niamh Bedggood (10O), 15 Years; Sophie Lennon (10L), 16 Years; and Sarah McLeod (12E), 17 Years.

In the other major trophies, Mackay House won the Lt. Col. Plant Challenge Cup for individual events and the Burrell Cup for relay events. Gibson House won the Lifesaving Relay in a great contest.

Congratulations to Sarah McLeod (12E) who was awarded the School Swimming Championship and 50m Freestyle Championship.

The QGSSSA Swimming Championships were held on Wednesday 4 March. An overview from the event will be included in next week’s BGGS News.

I hope all girls are looking forward to the Interhouse Cross Country on the last day of Term 1, and the opportunity to take your House spirit to Rangakarra.
