On Friday 3 May 2019, Girls Grammar Touch teams travelled to Rangakarra Recreational and Environmental Education Centre to play St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School. Determined to secure our first win of the season, the 7A team hoped our hard work and game planning would pay off, which it did, with the team winning 4-1.
Congratulations to Andrea Liu (7B), Scarlett Lane (7O) and Sarah Williams (7W) on scoring tries, and to the entire team on executing the plays taught by coach, Ms Sarah Miller (Head Girl, 2016). These tactics included drawing and passing.
Despite the win, the opposition kept us on our toes with strong defence and attack. The team worked well together using the techniques we had learned in training. A highlight at the end of the game was when we were able to run into the middle of the field, shoulder to shoulder, arm around arm and sing with pride the School war-cry for the first time as a team.
Our goals for this season are to become stronger as a team, build on this win, continue developing skills and focus in training.
