Touch Update

On Tuesday 14 May 2019, the Open team travelled to Manly West to compete against Moreton Bay College (MBC). The team has been actively and rigorously training in the lead-up to this game, and our hard training payed off as we defeated Moreton Bay College 7–5.

This was the first time in nine years that Girls Grammar has managed to defeat the MBC Open team. We had a lead 2–1 at the end of the first half and, during the second half, our team scored five tries, with Quinn Porceddu (10L) scoring two of those five.

However, MBC did not go down without a fight. Their attack was fast-paced and strong, forcing our team to improve our defence and use techniques taught to us by Coach, Mr Craig Morrow. Our attack proved strong as we broke through their defensive line many times. Overall, this game demonstrated our potential as a team and we are extremely satisfied with the final score.

The Open team is now more confident and prepared for the challenging games ahead and we look forward to improving our game play in the upcoming rounds.
