7B touch report
On Thursday 30 May 2019, our team competed against St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School (St Margaret’s) for this year’s 7B Touch Premiership. It was a challenging game and everyone in the team tried their hardest.
With less than five minutes remaining, the score was four all. However, St Margaret’s managed to score, winning the game 5-4. Despite the loss, our team was really proud of our efforts.
Our team has improved significantly this year, developing our skills and learning to play together. Overall, this touch season has been a great experience and we look forward to playing together again next year.

Brisbane All Schools Touch Tournament Open Team report
Congratulations to all players who represented Brisbane Girls Grammar School at the Brisbane All Schools Touch Tournament on Saturday 8 June 2019. This competition proved to be an enjoyable experience for our team that allowed us to compete against Schools that do not participate in the QGSSSA competition.
The Open team placed fourth overall, a result of the amount of effort and teamwork we put into each and every game. This was particularly evident in our 4-3 win against All Hallows’ School. It was our last game of the day and we were playing against the highest ranked team. Even though it was dark and raining, we used our strong attack plays and defence structure taught to us by our Coach, Mr Craig Morrow.
Highlights included Anabelle Horton (11L) running the full length of the field to score a try, Poppy Gouldson’s (9M) incredible step during the St Margaret’s game, Quinn Porceddu (10L) for her amazing defence throughout the day and Matisse Black (11H) constantly running from half to set-up a large sum of our team’s tries.
Our team enjoyed the high intensity of the games as they were 25 minutes with no half-time as opposed to two 20 minute halves which we are accustomed to playing in the QGSSSA competition. This really challenged our fitness and ability to work as a team.
Our team is looking forward to improving our skills over the break and returning to the QGSSSA competition next year stronger and more confident.
