Volleyball season summary

The 2022 BGGS Volleyball season saw many hard-fought matches across all divisions, including well-deserved victories against competitive schools. Highlights included the Year 7 team’s win over Brisbane State High School, the Open team’s 3—0 win against St Peters, and their premiership-deciding game against Moreton Bay College.

As Captains, our main goal for the season was to foster spirit and support for teammates. All volleyballers took this on board from the first round of matches, which has been evident through the fantastic results achieved across the whole Volleyball program.

Congratulations to all the teams on achieving outstanding results against some competitive opponents, and particularly to the 9B team for winning the premiership. The 2022 Volleyball results are:

Congratulations to Issy Carroll-Kirkwood (7E) and Ella Scheel (7L) for their selections to the Queensland Under 14 White team, and Lara Hadzivukovic (12H), for her selection to the Queensland Under 18 White team. These are incredible achievements and a testament to Issy, Ella, and Lara’s dedication to Volleyball.

Finally, thank you to Mrs Williamson for all the work she has done as Coordinator this season. So much work has gone in behind the scenes to organise the various initiatives that have continued this season, such as Social Volleyball and Year 7 Come and Try Volleyball, as well as ensuring the season ran as smoothly as it did. All the volleyballers greatly appreciate all she has done for the Volleyball program.
