We are pleased to report that the BGGS Volleyball season has commenced. While the season does look quite different this year, it has been great to be back on the court. Trials and training commenced at the beginning of this term, and only a week later we faced our toughest QGSSSA opponents, St Peters Lutheran College. After experiencing a few losses in the first round, we bounced back last Saturday with a clean sweep against St Hilda’s School.
This season is a wonderful opportunity for girls to build on skills learned in previous seasons. Despite the limitations imposed by COVID-19, such as timed games and no spectators, we are striving to create a strong, supportive sporting community, within which all girls can continue to be active and have fun. It is great to see the bonds developing among the teams as the season progresses.
Thank you to all the volleyball girls for being extremely responsible and understanding of this new structure, and to Ms McCorley, our Volleyball Coordinator, and all coaches, for ensuring such a successful start to the season. Good luck to all teams for their Saturday games against Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School this weekend.
