Water Polo update

After a successful first half of the season, BGGS Water Polo is a force to be reckoned with. In the 50th year of Water Polo at Girls Grammar, our sport now has 280 athletes training and competing weekly.

We are incredibly excited for this milestone season with the commemorative 50 years Water Polo balls on their way for the 2022/23 season. Additionally, the upcoming ‘Blue round’ in Term 1 will see our Grammar teams battle it out on Saturday 18 February at Musgrave Park pool. This is a great opportunity for girls across different age groups to support each other and enjoy the sport we all love. Supporters are also encouraged to come out and celebrate the occasion or attend any fixtures located at pools around Brisbane. Our girls have been training hard with 9 teams currently placed within the top four of their respective divisions and this is truly a testament to the commitment and resilience our teams are demonstrating.

Another important date to mark is Finals Fever, which will be held on 6 March at the School, so players can come together as a team and celebrate the season’s success.

We would also like to thank the incredible Water Polo Support Group for organising the breakfast barbeques at School for all players (egg rolls are always appreciated after training).

With the first half of the season almost complete, we would like to encourage all players to back each other and themselves and to play hard until the final whistle. We are incredibly excited to see what Grammar can do and are looking forward to the remainder of the season.
