Football at BGGS is already off to a promising start with eager players, experienced coaches, and our dedicated coordinator, Mrs Finch, working hard to ensure every girl has a memorable season.
Our Intermediate and Open teams played pre-season games against St Peter’s on Monday 21 February. Although both teams were a few players short with girls at Met North trials, it was great to have girls from the Senior As fill in, showing their support for their Grammar sisters. The Intermediates came away with a 2-0 win, and despite their determination, the Opens, unfortunately, had a 2-0 loss.
At Football, we welcome and encourage every girl, whether as a beginner or an existing player, to participate. The 2022 Football squad is no different and comprises a diverse range of players from the development squad to the Open team, which reinforces the strong sense of sisterhood in the BGGS community. Our welcoming and supportive atmosphere encourages each girl to strive to perform her best, and our results will reflect the incredible talent across all players.
Our main goal for the upcoming season is that each girl feels like they are a part of the Football family. We hope that every player takes the opportunity to get involved and have fun while developing and deepening their skills. By forming new friendships and bonding with girls from all levels, this season is going to be one to remember.
