P&F Association Term 4 2019 Report

As the School year draws to a close, I would like to begin by acknowledging the many hours of hard work by all members of our BGGS community. Your enthusiasm and commitment have been unwavering over the past year and I personally thank you for the support and guidance many have shown me in my first year as President of the P&F. When I reflect over the past 12 months, I think not only of the whirlwind of activity and events, but also of the positivity and friendship of a group of dedicated like-minded parents striving to support the BGGS community and each other in turn.

If you have been in our P&F Uniform Shop over the past few weeks you will have noticed the front service area of the shop has been refurbished. The P&F Association is extremely grateful to the School, in particular the Facilities Department, for their kind support of this project. The refurbishment has given the shop a visual lift, and provided a more efficient working area for our wonderful shop staff. Pride of place in our refurbishment is a beautiful artwork donated to the P&F by one of our volunteers, Mrs Alison Hale. We thank Mrs Hale for this generous and beautiful gesture.

Term 4 is never short of events. Musically, we were dazzled by the Gala Concert and Spring Concerts, and we thank the Music Support Group for their tremendous work behind the scenes, as well as the Instrumental Music Department for all their encouragement and support of the girls. We also thank the Old Girls Association for their catering support at Gala. This term, the Fathers Group held a dinner with guest speaker, Mr Donald Pincott, as well as another of their famed Marrapatta weekend retreats. The Mothers Group has had an extremely busy term supporting the Year 7 House Afternoon Teas, Year 12 Parents Farewell Function and staff end-of-year morning tea.

Finally, last week saw our Year 12 girls celebrate their Valedictory Dinner and all girls relish in Speech Day. I was so pleased to be present at both events and to hear the warm sentiments and sage wisdom imparted to our girls. On behalf of the P&F Association, I wish all our Year 12 girls and their families the very best for their futures, and thank departing parent volunteers for their service to the School community.

I wish all our Girls Grammar families a safe and happy Christmas and New Year holiday period.
