Swimming

The 2019 Swimming season commenced with the first official training sessions on Wednesday 30 January 2019. More than 70 students attended this session, which makes for a promising start to the competitive season in the lead up to QGSSSA on Wednesday 6 March 2019.

Over the holidays, more than 50 students attended the training sessions on offer throughout December and January. It was pleasing to see a mixture of both new and current students attending these sessions. Girls worked hard both in the pool and strength and conditioning sessions, with an obvious improvement in skill and fitness of the students who participated. Thanks go to the coaching staff for their involvement in these sessions.

Swimming trials begin this week with the commencement of Friday night time trials. The first carnival will be held on Friday 1 February 2019 at Somerville House. Details for this carnival can be found in Daily Notices.

On Friday 8 February 2019, the School will hold the Grammar Invitational Carnival at Centenary Pool. Gates will open at 5 pm with events commencing at 6 pm. The carnival will conclude by 8.30 pm.
