In May, the Brisbane Girls Debating Association held its Grand Final at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. This evening was the culmination of two intense terms of fortnightly debating.Â
There were 13 teams competing in the Year 8 round-robin competition, and each team completed five debates. The BGGS Year 8.1 team, coached by Head of Department—English Curriculum Development, Mr David Rawson, won all five of their debates, with the nearest competing team achieving three wins.
As a result, the 8.1 team were awarded the Champion Year 8 School Award.
