At the end of Term 3, the Chess Club was fortunate to receive funding from the P&F Association to purchase chess clocks.
Almost all competitive chess games at tournaments involve a chess clock, which is a timer for both players. Once a player’s timer runs out, they have lost the game. Chess clocks have become more and more prevalent at tournaments we participate in but can be intimidating when first encountered. Having chess clocks at the School is highly beneficial for our Chess Club members, as it helps us become more comfortable with using them.
