Metamorphosis is a showcase of the brilliant compositions and performances crafted by Year 12 Music Extension Students and other senior musicians. This term, we are focusing on our own metamorphosis—how we have grown and changed as performers and composers through the years.
We have examined who we are as musicians and have carefully chosen or written pieces accordingly. This showcase will feature a variety of different styles and instruments, from voice to trombone to a piano trio. In inviting the audience into our classroom, we are excited to share how each piece explores the concept of beauty in the unexpected—through the improvised feel of a piece, or the sudden changes in mood, or the choices within a composition. All students, teachers, and members of the School community are invited to attend.
