Brisbane Girls Grammar School held its annual Cathedral Concert recently at St John’s Cathedral in Brisbane City. As the afternoon light spilled through the beautiful stained-glass windows of the majestic Cathedral, the students from Chamber Strings, Symphonic Winds, Chamber Singers, Grammar Singers, Chorale and Symphony Orchestra delighted their audience with stunning performances of music spanning centuries.
There were poignant moments of deep contemplative music in the concert, and stirring triumphant and sweeping masterpieces. In particular, Pianist, Sophie Shan (12E), performed the second movement of the Ravel piano concerto impressively and sensitively with the support of the talented BGGS Symphony Orchestra.
Congratulations to all students for their outstanding musicianship and dedication in the lead up to this special musical event.
