Girls Grammar Musicians Recognised in National Chamber Music Championships

The Strike a Chord Competition is a new initiative developed by Musica Viva Australia, and supported by Creative Victoria, Melbourne Recital Centre, and the Australian National Academy of Music. This inaugural National Chamber Music Championship for secondary school ensembles commenced last week. BGGS entered five ensembles, and was honoured to have three ensembles receive first-round prizes. Congratulations to the following ensembles:

The Spirit of Chamber Music Prize—BGGS Year 12 String Quartet

The Strike a Chord Woodwind Prize (for an ensemble with one or more woodwind players)—BGGS Harp Trio
