Changes to BCC Bus Routes
The 927 service that previously operated between Brisbane Grammar–4 Bus Stop departing for The Gap at 3.40 pm has been changed to route 740.
The new route variant has also been extended to commence from the Gregory Terrace–8 Bus Stop.
The afternoon 740 route will depart Brisbane Grammar–4 Bus Stop at 3.23 pm. There is no change to the morning 740 route.
For more information about the bus network changes, please visit the TransLink website.
Girls Grammar families are reminded to please adhere to the traffic rules and signs outside the School to ensure the safety of our students and assist in the smooth flow of traffic along Gregory Terrace. Please be respectful of the Traffic Controllers and other motorists when using the set-down/pick-up zone when dropping off or picking up your daughter/s.
The set-down/pick-up zone at the front of the School is under the jurisdiction of Brisbane City Council, not the School, and our Traffic Controllers are there to assist with moving traffic through the zone. The pick-up opening time is 3.20 pm.
Parents who arrive to collect their daughters prior to 3.20 pm will be directed to follow a detour, detailed on the School’s traffic flyer.
Please note the time limits on the traffic signs as there is a three-minute zone (in front of the Main Building) and a five-minute zone (in front of the Science Block). Brisbane City Council parking inspectors regularly monitor this area and may issue parking infringement notices to parents who exceed this time limit.
No right turn
When exiting the set-down/pick-up zone you must turn left onto Gregory Terrace. There is a ‘No Right Turn’ sign located at this exit. Several accidents and near-misses have occurred in the past, due to drivers ignoring this sign and turning right across oncoming traffic onto Gregory Terrace.
Peak drop-off and pick-up times
The peak time for using the set-down/pick-up zone is in the morning between 8 am and 8.20 am and in the afternoon between 3.20 pm and 3.30 pm. We encourage families to speak to their daughters about the option of using public transport, carpooling or varying their drop-off and pick-up times outside of peak times to improve traffic flow along Gregory Terrace.
Kalinga Avenue and the Facilities/P&F Uniform Shop car parks are not to be used by parents for the set-down or pick-up of students. The laneway and carparks are only to be used for staff access and deliveries to the School.
Accessing the BGGS App and Minerva
The BGGS App provides quick and easy access to useful School information and can be downloaded for use on Apple and Android devices. The App provides mobile access to timetables and assessments results, the School calendar, newsletters, notices and instant notifications. All information within the App requires you to have logged in using your School username and password. A User Guide is available to assist in downloading the App.
Minerva is the School’s Learning Management System, which provides parents with essential information about the School. Minerva allows parents to access their daughter’s timetable, assessment tasks and results, daily news and notices, the School calendar (distributed in hard copy in Week 1, Term 1), policies, and curricular and co-curricular news and events.
Parents should access their daughter’s Year Level page/s to find important information relevant to their cohort. Year Level pages can be found on the Minerva homepage, and include information such as orientation information, term planners, Marrapatta dates and leadership opportunities.
To login to Minerva and other School systems, new parents should refer to their login details in the 2021 Start-of Year Information email sent prior to the commencement of Term 1. All other parents should use their existing login.
We remind parents to provide your daughter’s excursion consent in Parent Lounge before Monday 1 February. Without excursion consent your daughter cannot attend any excursions, including offsite sports training or sporting fixtures.
If you have any difficulties completing the excursion consent, please contact IT Support via email@example.com.
